It's time for another book giveaway! This contest involves five authors autographing books for one of you. Before I tell you how to enter the contest (it's so easy), let me tell you why I'm holding a contest for these specific books.
One of the coolest parts of being an author is being asked to offer quotes for soon-to-be released books. It's a huge honor! For this contest, we're giving away four books that I've blurbed. Three were debut releases from Jennifer Bosworth, Kristina McBride, and Cat Patrick. One is from an author who's been a favorite of mine for years: Elizabeth Scott. Each author has generously donated an autographed copy of their book that I blurbed for this contest. And since Kristina and Cat recently saw the publication of their second novels, they donated autographed copies of those as well!
Here are the covers of all the books you'll win, beginning with the author with the most recent release. How recent? One Moment's publication date is...tomorrow! (Struck, Miracle, and Revived all came out within the past two months.)
And because I'd love to see one of my books included in the same post as those above, I'll also autograph and send you a copy of The Future of Us:
So how do you win these seven autographed books? I'll randomly select one person (must be a resident of the U.S. or Canada) who comments on this blog post. In your comment, tell everyone about your first concert. Who did you see? If you haven't been to a concert yet, who would you love to see?
All comments must be submitted by 11:59pm (PST), June 27th. That's this Wednesday night. There's no need to leave your email address within your comment, just check back on Thursday to see if you've won. In that post, I'll let you know how to send me your mailing address.
My first concert? Well, I have two answers for that. The first group I actually saw perform was the cast of Kids Incorporated, back when I was a kid myself. That's right! I saw Stacy Ferguson before she was Fergie. Kids Incorporated played on a stage set up mid-field at Santa Anita Park (they race horses there when not hosting future members of The Black Eyed Peas). But my first "big boy" concert, which I went to in high school on New Year's Eve with my friend and his sister, was Poison. It was during their Flesh & Blood tour (shown below).
That's right. Kids Incorporated and Poison. So? What's yours???
Here are the descriptions of all six books being given away in this contest.
ONE MOMENT:
Maggie remembers hanging out at the gorge with her closest friends after a
blowout party. She remembers climbing the trail with her perfect boyfriend,
Joey. She remembers that last kiss, soft, lingering, and meant to reassure her.
So why can’t she remember what happened in the moment before they were supposed
to dive? Why was she left cowering at the top of the cliff, while Joey floated
in the water below–dead?
As Maggie’s memories return in snatches, nothing
seems to make sense. Why was Joey acting so strangely at the party? Where did he
go after taking her home? And if Joey was keeping these secrets, what else was
he hiding?
THE TENSION OF OPPOSITES:
Two years ago Noelle disappeared. Two long years of no leads, no word, no body.
Since the abduction, Tessa, her best friend, has lived in a state of
suspended animation. She has some friends, but keeps them distant. Some
interests, but she won’t allow herself to become passionate about them. And
guys? She can’t get close—she knows what it is like to really lose someone she
cared for.
And then, one day, the telephone rings. Noelle is alive.
And maybe, just maybe, Tess can start to live again, too.
REVIVED:
A secret government agency has developed a drug called Revive that can bring
people back from the dead, and Daisy Appleby, a test subject, has been Revived
five times in fifteen years. Daisy takes extraordinary risks, knowing that she
can beat death, but each new death also means a new name, a new city, and a new
life. When she meets Matt McKean, Daisy begins to question the moral
implications of Revive, and as she discovers the agency's true goals, she
realizes she's at the center of something much larger -- and more sinister --
than she ever imagined.
FORGOTTEN:
Each night at precisely 4:33 am, while sixteen-year-old London Lane is asleep,
her memory of that day is erased. In the morning, all she can "remember" are
events from her future. London is used to relying on reminder notes and a
trusted friend to get through the day, but things get complicated when a new boy
at school enters the picture. Luke Henry is not someone you'd easily forget, yet
try as she might, London can't find him in her memories of things to come.
When London starts experiencing disturbing flashbacks, or
flash-forwards, as the case may be, she realizes it's time to learn about
the past she keeps forgetting-before it destroys her future.
STRUCK:
Mia Price is a lightning addict. She’s survived countless strikes, but her
craving to connect to the energy in storms endangers her life and the lives of
those around her.
Los Angeles, where lightning rarely strikes, is one of the few places Mia
feels safe from her addiction. But when an earthquake devastates the city, her
haven is transformed into a minefield of chaos and danger. The beaches become
massive tent cities. Downtown is a crumbling wasteland, where a traveling party
moves to a different empty building each night, the revelers drawn to the
destruction by a force they cannot deny. Two warring cults rise to power, and
both see Mia as the key to their opposing doomsday prophecies. They believe she
has a connection to the freak electrical storm that caused the quake, and to the
far more devastating storm that is yet to come.
Mia wants to trust the enigmatic and alluring Jeremy when he promises to
protect her, but she fears he isn’t who he claims to be. In the end, the passion
and power that brought them together could be their downfall. When the final
disaster strikes, Mia must risk unleashing the full horror of her strength to
save the people she loves, or lose everything.
MIRACLE:
Megan is a miracle. At least, that’s what everyone says. Having survived a
plane crash that killed everyone else on board, Megan knows she should be
grateful just to be alive. But the truth is, she doesn’t feel like a miracle. In
fact, she doesn’t feel anything at all. Then memories from the crash start
coming back.
Scared and alone, Megan doesn’t know whom to turn to. Her entire
community seems unable—or maybe unwilling—to see her as anything but Miracle
Megan. Everyone except for Joe, the beautiful boy next door with a tragic past
and secrets of his own. All Megan wants is for her life to get back to normal,
but the harder she tries to live up to everyone’s expectations, the worse she
feels. And this time, she may be falling too fast to be saved....
THE FUTURE OF US:
It's 1996, and Josh and Emma have been neighbors their whole lives. They've
been best friends almost as long--at least, up until last November, when
everything changed. Things have been awkward ever since, but when Josh's family
gets a free AOL CD-ROM in the mail, his mom makes him bring it over so that Emma
can install it on her new computer. When they sign on, they're automatically
logged onto Facebook . . . but Facebook hasn't been invented yet. Josh and Emma
are looking at themselves fifteen years in the future.
Their spouses,
careers, homes, and status updates--it's all there. And every time they refresh
their pages, their futures change. As they grapple with the ups and downs of
what their lives hold, they're forced to confront what they're doing right--and
wrong--in the present.
(I know, that last one sounds particularly awesome!)

These all sound awesome!
My first concert was Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson. And it was pretty much great. :)
My first concert was Avril Lavigne. I was like, seven or eight. or nine. i don't remember. ANyway, it was at Jones Beach and I went with my dad. We had pretty good seats I think. I remember my dad left me alone for a few minutes to buy food, and I think I was one of the younger ones around my area. I remember them giving out Jones Beach t-shirts, and I didn't get one so my dad took me to the person who was standing there handing them out, and I did a puppy dog face and I got one :D It's orange, and I still have it somewhere. Anywayy, I knew every word to Complicated & Sk8er Boi. It was fun :D
The first concert I went to was my cousin's band, TROOPER (Canadian rock band made of awesome!). This was back when I was 12 yrs old. They played in the high school auditorium in my small town in BC, and my mom (who accompanied me)made me stuff tissue in my ears "so I wouldn't go deaf". All these years later, they're still putting on great shows, but I think they're most often heard at hockey games when the speakers blast their classic song: "Raise a little hell". ;)
I can't believe I'm gong to post this in public, but I would love to have those books.., so here goes. My first concert? THE OSMONDS!! I begged my parents to take me, and I must have been pretty persuasive, because they did. Yes, the whole gang of them with Donny and Marie and even little Jimmy doing solos. (But I can redeem myself because the next concert I saw was Alice Cooper, so there!)
I was a very lucky girl. My first concert was Barry Manilow at Radio City Music Hall. My first concert in an arena was Whitney Houston...am I a child of the 80s or what?
I'd love to tell you all about my first concert - the Bruce Springsteen "Born in the USA" tour. He pulled up in a Cadillac and he performed for three. solid. hours. It was truly awesome. Made me a Springsteen fan for life, and I'll always appreciate my (much) older brother for agreeing to take me.
Sadly, however, it wasn't my first concert. Well, it was the first one with assigned seating, so maybe that counts.
My first concert was to see Canadian icon, Gowan. It was at the Forum at Ontario Place in Toronto, and it was the best night I had had in my very young life. Tickets were $20 and included entry to the water park. I met up with friends, we rocked out until the crazy hour of 10:00 pm, and waited for our parents to pick us up. We were cool, and we knew it.
Ah youth.
My first concert was Hilary Duff. My dad picked me up from summer camp and told me we had to go see one of his business partners in a city two hours away. When we were almost there he asked me to get some directions out of an envelope. When I opened up the envelope, I pulled out two second row tickets for a Hilary Duff concert. That was probably the most memorable day of my life.
When I was six my parents and I visited Bear Mountain in the burbs outside NYC and took in the Beach Boys concert (outside the fence, technically, but it was like we just had backrow seats). My real adult concert was Bush and No Doubt when I was 15 and it was the concert tour when they got together and eventually married!
My first concert was Hanson. I know they might not be the most hip band, but I have loved them since I was 13 years old. Needless to say, the concert was epic. :)
I'm mortified to admit this, but I'll do it for the chance to win these books. I'm a sucker for books, and autographed, recommended books are even better!
My first concert was technically Peter, Paul and Mary, which rocked for "Puff the Magic Dragon."
My next concert was Whiteheart. Not sure if that redeems me from the first one. Thank you for the opportunity, Jay!
I love this contest! Thank you!
The first concert I attended was The All American Rejects...at Walmart. This was 6 or 7 years ago; I thought they were kind of big back then...So I have no idea why they were playing in Walmart. I think it was by the clothes and produce sections. Weird--but still good!
My first BIG concert was Warped Tour at the Gorge, which consisted of myriad bands (and lots of sun and heat.)
My first big BIG concert (in an area or auditorium of sorts) was Muse at the Key Arena. It. Was. Awesome. For one, I love Muse. Secondly, it was like a rock concert and a laser show all in one. AWESOME.
I have never been to a concert. Martina McBride was my favourite artist when I was 10, and she still is. She was also my mom's favourite artist. We especially loved her song Concrete Angel (It's still my favourite). Her and I were making plans and were supposed to go see her live in concert. Unfortunetly, my mom passed aaway before we could attend. Hopefully, I will be able to see her in concert one day, it's one of my goals in life. But, for me, Martina McBride is the one person that I wold like to see in concert. Hopefully I win! The books all look amazing and I need some readig material for the Summer!
What an awesome giveaway!! :D Oh my gosh... Well I barely remember my first concert. I'm 90% sure it was Steven Curtis Chapman, back in the day (and by "in the day" I mean the 90s. I'm not THAT old). All I remember is that there were speakers in the seats in the theatre, and he had a song in which he would play the sound of a Gameboy turning on. And when he played that song ('See the Glory' I think), that freakin' Gameboy sound blasted out of every single person's chair and the whole theater flipped a shiz. What a hero.
My first concert was Aaron Carter on my eleventh birthday. My Mom went all out and bought me a t-shirt, got me tenth row tickets, and helped me squeeze up to the stage during my favorite song. He threw a rose to me and I kept it in my refrigerator for about a year.
My first concert was either Stephen Speaks or The Corrs (can't remember which I saw first). I remember being in the nosebleed section for The Corrs... I don't think my friends and I even had seats, actually, or maybe we just left the seats to stand by a railing and be as close as possible to the stage. When they started tossing free shirts and stuff at the audience, I still hoped that somehow one of them would fly all the way to where I was.
My first concert was Kenny Rogers waaaaay back in the...well, let's not discuss years. Maybe that's why I'm not a huge country music fan, preferring alternative, rock and pop. I really remember very little about it except it was loud, I couldn't see over the adults in front of me, but I did know the words to many of the songs thanks to listening to him with my dad.
My first concert and one of my first loves... James Taylor.
I, sadly, have not been to a concert yet!! As to who I would love to see- I'll be pretty cliche and say Adele. I totally love her voice and how much passion she puts into her songs! <3 I'd love to see her live.
Thank you for the giveaway!!
Thanks for the awesome giveaway. :) My first concert was when I was about 8,9 years old and it was TimMcgraw and Kenny Chesney. It was pretty cool. I went with my best friend and we had a blast!
My first concert was in the seventh grade and I went with my parents to see Eric Clapton. This was the late 80's and he wasn't exactly cool with my age group but I was a big fan as my parents had brought me up on his music. He played all his greatest songs and it was a wonderful time. In the years that followed my mom and I saw him four more times together. It is a nice memory that I will always cherish.
I saw Secondhand Serenade with a couple whose song was their big hit. Needless to say I was the third wheel.
Thanks for this opportunity! Um, I think my very first concert may have been Hank Williams Jr. while I was in my mother's tummy. That, or Chuck E. Cheese when I was four. If those don't count, I don't remember. Something country, maybe Chris Ledoux. My favorite? Tool. Who I'd love to see? Florence + the Machine.
Mine was John Mayer...sigh.
My first concert ( other than at the state fair) was Avril Lavigne and Boys Like Girls. I was so excited and I still have the tour shirt. :) thanks for the giveaway.
I saw Guns and Roses. Or technically just Axl since there was no Slash. It took forever since there were 3 openers! GNR didnt come on until after midnight, 1am my time. Even will all the noise, I was so tired that I dozed in my seat before the end of the set. It wasn't until 3am my time that the concert let out then I had a long drive back home. When I was pulling into campus the sun was rising! Good memories overall though.
My first concert was at a State Fair. It was The Jets and Clint Black. Two very differnt music genres playing at the same venue. It was amazing!
My first concert was DARIUS RUCKER so of course it was awesome! I love country music and he sounds just as good in person as he does on his albums. And my second concert is on Friday so I'm really excited for it!!
My first concert, oh god, I'm so ashamed, was Hole. Oh yeah, Courtney Love. I was in Jr. High. My dad made me go, I'd never even heard of Hole. (My dad was a little... different)
My second concert makes for a better story: Jackson Browne, on a first date. Chris asked me out and, worried I'd say no, hadn't bought the tickets yet, so we ended up standing on a crowded lawn, far from the stage. He's super tall and could see perfectly. I'm vertically challenged and spent much of the night looking at the backs of the people in front of us. That turned into a plus, as I focused more on talking with my date than listening to the music. We married four years later. (My first concert was Genesis, with teen friends.)
Very first concert? Rush, with my dad. Second concert, U2. With my dad (seems to be a bit of a pattern here...)
To win would be so great! Fingers crossed!
Even though I only made it to the parking lot, I claim my first concert was Bon Jovi. My parents would not allow me to go. They did give permission for me to go with my youth group. The church’s plan was to save souls in the parking lot. My plan was to sneak into the concert. When I realized I could get arrested, I chickened out. I spent the evening handing out flyers about Jesus with the rest of my youth group. I would ask concert goers if they wanted to go to a party and then I would hand them a flyer as if it was a party invitation. The front of the “invitation” read BONJOUR in a font very similar to the one used on Bon Jovi’s album cover. On the inside was a Christian message about a party in heaven. They would take the invitation and go on their merry little way. I was so jealous that I wanted to throw rocks at the back of their heads as they walked towards the coliseum. That was over 20 years ago and I still resent my parents for not letting me go. Lol! I did go to a Poison concert a couple years later so that made up for it a little.
I'm 18 & I've never been to a concert, sad right? If I could go to any concert I would go to see Neon Trees. I love their music & it makes me want to move. However, I would jump at the chance to travel back to the 70s or 80s & see bands like Aerosmith, Warrant, Def Leopard, Bon Jovi, Poison, etc. (In case you couldn't tell I'm a classic rock child)
My first concert was with my parents to see Igor and the Red Elvises at a free concert in the park. My second one was seeing them one year later at the same concert in the park event!
I've never been to a concert. :( I went to see Bill Cosby once though, does that count? idk. Well, if I could see ANYONE in concert I wish I could travel back in time and see The Beatles. :D but as of now, maybe Paramore.
i'm fairly sure my first concert was Tom Paxton who i thought was that old guy my parents listened to at the time (i was probably 6ish) and now i listen to happily.
My first concert was the Backstreet Boys and Mandy Moore. My sister and I were probably the oldest people there without their daughters (we were 24 and 22!) and we had a blast! Those teenage girls we were who couldn't afford NKOTB tickets, finally got to scream at completely unattainable teenage popstars. Is this contest also a hint about the subject of your new book?
My first concert was Supertramp. I was ~16. I had recently broken a bone in my foot, but this did not stop me from dancing in the aisles with a walking cast on.
Love this!
Firt concert was Shawn Cassidy. My dad took me to Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. I was probably no older than eight or nine. I still remember the opening- he jumped through a white screen.
My first big girl concert was at the same place, but this time it was my first of many Duran Duran concerts. I held up a sign I made in day-glow markers that read NICK LETS CALL IT PARADISE. I was 14.
My first concert was at Rosemont Horizon in Chicago. I was a high school junior and went with my best guy friend and one of his buddies. We saw the Police. Fantastic concert!
My first concert was Patty Loveless at the fair. She was AWESOME!
First off, I already won autographed books from you, Jay, so please don't include me in this drawing.
Second, you saw Kids Incorporated?! That's so cool to me. I loved them back in the late '80s when I used to watch their show on Disney. I used to dance around the living room singing into a hairbrush pretending I was in the band, :)
My first concert was Stevie Nicks in 1994. I was 15 years old, and everything about it was totally awesome. And all these later, I still love Stevie! :)
My first concert was the great country music star Mr. Conway Twitty. I couldn't have been more than six or seven, and we drove for what seemed like days (turns out it was three or four hours) to an outdoor venue in central Virginia. I stood on a picnic table, swatted mosquitoes, and tried to watch a teeny-tiny Conway sing songs I couldn't really hear. (It would seem that some complaining happened during this process as my parents never took me to another concert again...)
And I must add, I now have a very odd mash-up of Conway tunes and the Kids Incorporated theme song stuck in my head.
My first concert was Green Day for their American Idiot tour. I was maybe 14? It is still one of the best concert I've been to.
My FIRST concert was Krockathon in Syracuse NY which had a whole bunch of bands. I went with my mom and my cousin, who are two of my very favorite people, which made it awesome. But my FAVORITE concert was the one my mom took me to for my twenty-first birthday, which was to see Godsmack. They were more impressive than I ever could have imagined, especially when they *drove* their drum sets out and the lead singer battled the drummer for a good ten minutes. It was amazing.
My first concert was The Cleftomaniacs, an a capella group at William and Mary. It was part of a showcase of other a capella groups, but they were the ones who stuck out to me.
my first concert was matchbox 20. my older sisters were going and decided to be nice and let their little sister tag along. it was back when our amphitheater still had lawn seats, so we just took a blanket and listened to them play outside. i'm pretty sure it rocked : )
My first concert was New Kids on the Block with opening acts Dino and Sweet Sensation. My friend and I made signs for the show and dressed in head to toe NKOTB attire, right down to our shoelaces :-)
My first concert was Lorrie Morgan. And I can still remember it like it was yesterday. My sister took me as a Christmas present!
My first concert was Donny Osmond and the Osmond Brothers at the Outagamie County Fair. I think I still have Donny's autograph on one of my mother's checking account deposit slips somewhere. I did not CHOOSE to go to this concert, my mother dragged me along with her. The first concert I CHOSE to go to was Barry Manilow. I'm not kidding. I am a 37 year old Fanilow.
I saw the Newsboys (Christian group). I SO wished I had earplugs... I am such a wimp when it comes to really loud music.
My first concert was to see Tiffany at the MN State Fair. New Kids on the Block was supposed to open the show. By the time of the concert, New Kids on the Block became so popular that they ended up being the main act and Tiffany opened for them.
At the time I loved both acts so it didn't really matter, but the people in front of me walked out after Tiffany finished performing.
Last summer GMA had Tiffany performing for one of the Friday Summer Concerts. I was able to share some of her music with my daughter.
My first concert was Aretha Franklin and Little Richard in 1996. My best friend Danielle took me for my 18th birthday. :)
I've never before attended a concert, but if I had to choose I would definitely, without a doubt, choose to see Coldplay live. Coldplay's music, particularly the albums Parachutes and X&Y, always leave me in good spirits. Sometimes putting what you're feeling into words is one of the most difficult things to do and with their lyrics I find myself releasing feelings which I wasn't aware I was actually feeling. The lyrics, the vocals, and the music are simply perfection. I would love to experience the acoustics live.
I'm 21 and I've never been to a concert D: so tragic, right? If I had to choose right this second I would go with Imagine Dragons. I only just heard them a few weeks ago for the first time and I absolutely fell in love. I play their music and automatically start feeling good. I love music that can make me feel hopeful and make me think, much like a good book. It helps me get through the tough times and sometimed that makes all the difference in the world. (:
Metallica..yea. That's how awesome it was :D
My first concert was the a capella group Straight No Chaser who are just completely awesome live. Even better, I got to sit in the front row. My first rock concert was the Goo Goo Dolls, where I was in the second row and got to meet them before the show! None of my other concert experiences have been as good as my firsts...
New Edition when I was 13 with my neighbors!
My mom took me to my first concert and it was a band she liked called YES. It was pretty cool but the best concert expierence was two years ago when I took my the ten year old daughter to see Justin Bieber. The look on her face was worth all the screaming teens! Priceless binding moment!!
My first concert was Lollapalooza 1993 in Dallas, TX. I was 15. I was there mainly for Alice in Chains, and it was my first introduction to Rage Against the Machine. It was so hot and so loud. :)
My first concert was The Fifth Dimension! It was awesome - not only because they were great - but because I had a broken leg and they let me go backstage to get them all to sign my cast! ;-)
My first concert was at one of those outdoor Warped Tour concerts. I really wanted to see Rise Against and Bad Religion. I didn't get to see them because they played at night and I went earlier in the day and was pretty much blacking-out from the humid weather. I'm not even sure what I saw that day... possibly New Found Glory :/
Thank you for this awesome giveaway!!! :)
Mari Iijima, the Japanese voice actress for Lynn Min Mae from Macross Plus.
Thanks for this awesome opportunity!
Although it wasn't technically a concert exactly, it was a live band performance. A couple of years ago, a local band performed for my youth group. They were pretty awesome.
But, in the spirit of the request, I will tell you a concert I would like to go to. Rock on the Range. There are always awesome bands there, and I would really love the chance to just go there. Hopefully I can go next year.
I think I was 14. It was Lenny Kravitz, playing London's Wembley Arena. Skunk Anansie was the opener. I went with a group of friends and thought I was sooo cool (I wasn't - lol).
My first concert was The Tragically Hip, it was an inside venue, and as soon as the lights went out everyone half the people there lit up joints, I think I got high from the fumes alone!
I saw Relient K at a Christmas concert! It was amazing. I really want to go to Taylor Swift, David Archuleta and Big Time Rush. Relient K has been my only concert.
My first concert--and most recent--concert was Bryan Adams. I saw him in 1992 with my high school BFF. We saw him again two weeks ago. Who says you can't go back?
my first concert that i actually paid money for was...julian lennon. i know, i know. totally embarrassing. what makes it sort of okay is that a few friends and i decided we had nothing better to do that day than to drive two hours to "the city" and buy our tickets right there - it was a general admission show - and then we walked right up to the front of the stage in front of people who were sitting down a few feet away. yep. we started a rush on the stage. whew, was it exciting.
I saw N'Sync. It's embarrassing ;)
I'm jealous of your first concert. Mine was Green Day with Pansy Division in November 1994 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Filmed for MTV's "Green Day - Jaded in Chicago," it was right after Dookie came out, but there were a lot of fans of Kerplunk! and their other Lookout Records albums. I still have the shirt from that show to this day. Dark green with the Dookie logo on one side and Green Day on the other. Pansy Division kind of sucked though.
The first concert I went to was actually a music festival. I saw Hinder and Saving Abel and a bunch of other folks.
Sadly, I've never been to a concert before...but I've always wanted to go to a One Direction concert!!! I'm a huuuge fan!...just don't have the money right now...
Oh gosh mine was The Backstreet Boys although the first I remember was the Jonas Brothers haha. Been a boy band fan my whole life ;) my JB concert was actually one of my favorite nights so far because it was 2007 so it was before they got huge so we got to hang out afterwards and got to meet them and got their autographs so it was absolutely wonderful.
Does Ray Charles qualify as a concert? He was my first. And then when I was a hippie backpacking through Europe I saw The Kinks, in Germany. They were not well received, but I had fun. So, I guess that pretty much ages me. One night, when I lived in Santa Barbara, I walked on the beach and could hear The Doors. Someday, Mr. Asher, maybe you'll be blurbing my debut;-)shelley
My first concert was Avril Lavigne when i was like 6 or 7 i think. I don't really remember much about it except i was in the very last row of the venue and it was too dark so i couldn't feed my Tamagotchi. Now concerts are a regular part of my daily life haha, i remember my mom wanted to buy me a shirt but i told her it was ok, now i never leave a concert with getting a shirt. I collect them!
Just over a week ago, on June 16, I attended my first "real" concert. Sure, I'd been to small performances of lame bands with my parents, but this was a no-parents, sold out concert for One Direction. I went with my best- friend-since-kindergarten, who was also enamored with the British boy band. This was a big deal, going alone. Given, the theatre was packed with 14,000 of our best friends screaming their heads off. Anyways, we both ended up buying completely overpriced sweatshirts there and the group sounded better live, which was a huge surprise. I overall loved it since I could share this great memory and first with a best friend.
My first real concert was when I won free tickets to Jars of Clay. Other favorites were Cyndi Lauper, Idina Menzel, and REM.
Wow, Jay, your first concerts were KEWL! Mine was the News Boys lol!
Wow! Your big boy concert was COOL! My first concert was something at the music hall. The concert I remember for reals was the Meat Puppets in a really small venue. My sister put me up at the front by the stage so I wouldn't be in the mosh pit...yep, she's awesome! :)
My first concert was of Three Days Grace, which was 3 years ago when I was only in 8th grade! I almost got knocked out by a flying shoe! The opening bands were Adelitas Way and Chevelle, which was pretty cool!
Yes, I saw Sting in concert in Miami when I was fifteen. They will always hold a special place in my heart.
The first concert I ever went to was a Lenny Kravitz concert with Buckcherry and Smashmouth as the opening bands.
The first concert I ever went to was with my sister. We went to see Theory of a Deadman, and White Tie affair! We drove hours to get there, the concert was delayed, White Tie Affair was still new, and they were opening up for Theory of a Dead man, and not that many people were siging along, so they decided to sing other people songs, it was some funny stuff :)
All in all it was a good time! I have my fingers crossed my next concert will be nickelback!!!!!!
My first concert was The Police, Ghost in the Machine tour. I was twelve years old. I was pressed up against the front barrier right in front of the stage. I had a huge bruise on my hip the next morning. It was worth it. Awesome concert.
Thanks for the giveaway, Jay.
The only concert I've been to - if you can even call it that- was the a gathering of all the local bands that played at my high school when I was fifteen. It was pouring out but I still had a ton of fun. As for a "real" concert, I haven't been to one yet, but both Meatloaf and Stone Temple Pilots are coming around this summer and I've already made it perfectly clear to the husband that one does NOT miss out on Meatloaf :)
My first concert was the Beach Boys (my mom took me) but it was a surprise to see John Stamos drumming and (his girlfriend at the time) Paula Abdul making a guest appearance.
My first 'big girl' concert wasn't for a bit later. I saw Billy Joel in college.
I have been to gatherings where a band was performing but I never caught/remembered its name. I would love to attend a Sara Bareilles concert though!
Awesome selection of books!
Whilst I'd love to tell you my first concert was the Bon Jovi one I went to, alas I should probably come clean and admit it was, in fact, Shakin' Stevens. At the time (I was 10/11), I thought it was enormously cool, and I thought *I* was the bees knees. ;o)
Thanks for the giveaway. :o)
Garth Brooks. Yes, I said it - I was a pre-teen and I loved country music at the time :-)
Thanks for such an awesome, fun giveaway!!!
I'm really dating myself, but my first concert was The Bay City Rollers in the 70's (can't remember the exact date) at the Anaheim Convention Center. The girls in the audience were so crazy, there was almost a riot. I actually got trapped near the front of the stage, with everyone behind me pushing forward. It was a scary moment. I can see why there are deaths at concerts. We were all out of control, but it ended up being one of my favorite memories.
Love the books you're giving away! Thanks:)
My first concert was Ludacris. My friend was going to VA Tech and got my sister and I tickets. Ever since, I've only gone to country music concerts!
I love YA books and am excited to try these! My first concert was a-ha in 1987 or 1988. My best friend and I went, without parents. It was amazingly fun to be a part of all those enthusiastic people our age.
First I have to say hoe completely jealous I am that you got to see Kids Incorporated! I loved that show when I was a kid. My cousins and siblings and I would watch at my grandparents house and pretend we were in the group (we would stand on footstools and sing into our wooden spoon microphones)
Second... My first concert was a kids group called Rosenshantz which I saw when I was young.... But I don't really count that. My first concert concert embarassingly enough was NSYNC. One of my best friends in high school wanted to take her younger sister as a treat since their mom was fighting cancer. She didn't drive so I was elected to drive them to the city so we could try to get free tickets from the radio station... We ended up just buying them at the door so she wouldn't be disappointed.
It was a Brooks and Dunn concert I think around 94.
I was 13, in 1998, with my 22 year old sister in law from Germany, and we saw Backstreet Boys. I had my entire bedroom wallpapered with their pictures from Tigerbeat and J14. I felt so cool to be going to their concert!
I will really show my age on this but my first concert was The Osmond Brothers a long, long time ago.
My first concert as a kid was Phil Collins. It was not cool at all. I went along with my mom and my aunt and then later my aunt bought me the CD. My first concert as a teenager without any parents was the Wallflowers and Counting Crows show. I loved it and thought I was so cool and grown up. I still love concerts and am very lucky to have been able to attend them from such a young age.
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
My first concert was Shania Twain's "Come On Over" tour stop in 1998. I was 7 at the time and I ended falling asleep halfway through the concert, while sitting in the nosebleeds of a sold-out show. It was memorable because at the very end they carried her out and my sister got to touch her hand and I happened to still be asleep. I remember waking up and being so mad that I slept through the "touching of the hand of Shania Twain" part because I was such a huge fan. Needless to say, I've never fallen asleep in a concert again.
Wowza there are lots of comments! Best of luck to everyone.
My first concert is kinda a nerdy one. It was in 2007 and I went to the Hannah Montanta/Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds Tour in Salt Lake. I didn't even like Miley and still don't. I went to see the Jonas Brothers who performed with her. They were quite fantastic. We sat clear in the back and took all kinds of bad pictures, but it's a wonderful memeory and I'm glad I went.
My first concert was when I was 11 or 12. My mom took me and my sister to a Michael English concert. We were thrilled and had a great time. :)
My first and only concert was Hilary Duff. I believe I was around 10 years old. My best friend who was 2 years younger than me at the time was on a shopping spree with me and our moms surprised us with tickets! We both cried tears of joy we were so happy!
All these books sound so good!
My first concert was The New Pornographers! I randomly saw they were coming here and I was like OKAY I'LL DO IT. It was a quiet, low-key concert but I was so excited.
I want to go to an Adele or Lady Antebellum concert.
My first concert, huh? Truth be told I haven't been to one but I WOULD love to go to a Katy Perry concert (original, right?). I love her weirdness and her music has gotten 10x better in my opinion.
EPIC giveaway by the way! :)
My first concert was an Amy Grant concert with my dad when I was in either late elementary or early middle school. Oh dear.
My first concert sans my dad was much cooler, and was R.E.M. when I was in high school :-)
When I was 12, my sister took me to Jingle Ball in NYC, I remember Ashlee Simpson, Gwen Stefani, and Ryan Cabrera. I remember having horrible tickets, but it was so much fun!!
I have a feeling my first concert was Ozzfest. It was awesome. My mom's friend had gotten a bunch of tickets (maybe she won them). I was just so excited to see Ozzy and Marilyn Manson. Especially Ozzy, because he was already getting pretty old and bad off at that point. I have been to tons of concerts since though. Mostly local stuff, but some other fun ones :)
My first concert was to see Alicia Keys and John Legend at Radio City Music Hall. It was a surprise from my parents for my 13th birthday, so it was really awesome. My first adult concert was when I saw Justin Nozuka. It was at a club and the show was sixteen and over, so I felt really cool and grown up getting to be there. It was an awesome show too!
Oh my gosh, my first concert was Hannah Montana. I was 10. I went with one of my sisters and my mom. My other sister didn't want to go. We had a blast. Looking back on it, I'm embarrassed that I actually went to a concert that girly. Oh well, it was fun at the time. :)
My first concert experience was seeing the Backstreet Boys. I was obsessed with the band and I had a huge crush on Brian Littrell. I remember it because while I was in my seats with my mother, best friend and sister, my dad went to the bathroom and actually saw them walking around. I think he even talked to them. I cried because I was so jealous but I was also happy because I got to see them live. Another reason is because when we left Boston at 2 a.m., the date was September 11, 2001.
Awesome giveaway! My first concert was Lifehouse. I saw them at the LA County Fair :)

NKOTB baby!!! (That's New Kids on the Block for all you youngins out there) My dad took me when I was young, maybe 7 years old. It was awesome! I came home with a poster and of course, my room was already decked out in NKOTB stuff. IT. WAS. AWESOME!!!!! :)
Too bad the contest isn't international. I'd love entering, to have a chance on winning&reading these gorgeous books. :)
My first concert was The Who at Shea Stadium. The Clash opened for them, and before them, David Johansen, a.k.a Buster Poindexter opened for the Clash. But he wasn't Buster Poindexter until two years later.
please don't laugh please don't laugh please DON'T Laugh!! LOL
My very first concert was The Pointer Sisters at Jones Beach with my mom and my aunt. Actually looking back on it now it was a lot of fun ~ especially since those two wonderful women I went with are no longer here on earth! We danced and sang along with almost every song - we stopped at a diner on the way home for fries with gravy and milkshakes! It was the BEST time ever! I would do it all again if I could!
Like I told you on FB, it was Tina Turner in Barcelona at an old bullfighting ring. Standing room only. We all jumped along with each song to the point that there was a huge cloud of fine yellow dust that ended up covering everyone and making us choke while we were singing...ahhhh this were the times! :)
My first concert was either Johnny Cash or Herb Alpert. At the time, I was more impressed with Herb Alpert because I got his autograph. (and I still have it!) My tastes were somewhat eclectic even at the age of 5.
My first concert was in St. Pete, Florida. It was my first "real" concert and I was totally stoked. I went with my friends Mel and Angie and we went to see "We The Kings" play. Somehow we ended up right in the center of the crowd, so we lined up perfectly with Travis, the lead singer. When they played by favorite song by them "Secret Valentine" the lights shined down on him from the center and panned directly across the venue, illuminating the whole middle column. So there I was, all lit up, watching one of my idols, singing my very favorite song. If that wasn't a dream come true all on it's own, he stared into the crowd and made eye contact with me at the first strum of the guitar. I started waving and smiling and yelling like a crazy person, and that's when the beat started to bump and everyone was jumping up and down. A couple of bigger guys started picking people up (those who desired to be picked up, just to make that clear) and people began crowd surfing. Then, they looked my way, motioned "up?" and I smiled big and shook my head yes. Being only 5'1 and a 120lbs I was pretty easy to be lifted and before I knew it I was floating on a group of people who sang the same songs I was singing and loved the same music that I did. It was very invigorating and I was grinning the whole time. I finally hit the security line at the front of the stage and I was handed over and put down. I ran around and back into the crowd to find my friends. It was awesome! After the show I went to the merchandise table to grab myself a shirt and then my friends and I on our way out, happened to stumble upon the "We The Kings" tour bus. Because the band is originally from St. Pete, they knew so many people at the concert so there wasn't any security. It was more like a big get together of close friends, and I have to admit it felt awesome feeling like just a good friend of the bands. I got a big hug from Travis and he signed my shorts. Totally awesome! A few other tidbits of information from the concert: The Merch guy said I was cute, that was the first time I took a puff of a cigarette (ew, never again!) and also the first time I was in a mosh pit (for a few short time, like I mentioned above, I am a short little thing, not cut out for that kind of thing.) It was one of the best nights of my life, and I was glowing for days afterwards. The way music can shape your days and attitude is amazing.
My very first concert was N*Sync. My sister and I were OBSESSED with them. I was like 7/8 at the time? We had nosebleed seats, and I remember watching through binoculars. We got t-shirts.
Since then I've only been to ONE concert. And that was Mitchell Musso (Oliver from Hannah Montana) at Six Flags Over Texas. Security kept getting mad because everyone was in the aisles trying to take pictures instead of at their seats.
Third concert will be in September for UPROAR FEST. Super stoked.
Marvin Gaye on the Boston Common. I was 13 and I saw him gyrating on stage wearing nothing but a leopard print speedo. Scarred me for life.
My first concert was the Everly Brothers - I went with my parents. :) My first concert of MY choice was Motley Crue on the Dr. Feelgood tour. Faster Pussycat opened.
My first ever concert was when I was about 12. My friend's family was going to see Sheryl Crow and invited me along. I hadn't even heard of her music before at the time, but we had so much fun.
My first big girl concert was when I was in high school and my friend's older brother and a friend of his took us to see Bush. To this day it is probably the best time I have ever had at a concert. I wish I could relive that day. :)
I've never been a concert before, but I would love to see demi lovato in concert. Her music is just so amazing and seeing her live would be epic!
LOL! It was Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch at the Rock County Fair in the 90's. Mark Wahlberg was ADORABLE and was in middle school. I, of course, knew every word to his songs and so did every other screaming girl around me! :)
Whitesnake/Great White at Barton Coliseum. In retrospect that seems like such a waste of a first. I sure thought I was having the time of my life while I was there though. :)
Technically, my first concert was Randy Travis - my mom was a big country fan so I went to see him with her when I was a kid.
Actually, my first "real" concert was something not much better: Christian pop/rock Newboys or DC Talk or something like that.
Most epic concert was SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY!
I'm quite jealous -- my childhood ambition was to be IN Kids, Incorporated.
My first concert (well, besides the local kiddie singers in our town park) was DMB in high school.
First concert was Randy Travis. Not by choice, just accompanying my mom to see her country love!
Once I could choose, my first was probably a 90s Christian rock/pop group like Newsboys or DC Talk. Embarrassing!
Most epic concert was SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY. Felt like I was stepping back in time!
1st concert was NO DOUBT. It rocked ;)

I would really love to see Adele live, she has inspired me to sing again and i love how she has over come soo much and she has shared her story wiith her many fans. Her songs are well written and I i have almost all of them memorized and i wish that one day i will get to experience her amazing talent in person
My first concert was the Beach Boys. I think I was ten? So much fun, and great music. Sat way too close to the speakers and my ears rang the whole way home. Good times.

*looks over shoulder* Kenny Rogers circa 1982 *ducks and hides in shame*
My first concert was the Back Street Boys. Back when they were playing games with your hearts! My very young me loved it very much. :)
So my first concert happened earlier this year. The concert itself was actually featured six bands in total so my friend Samantha and I werent too concerned about getting there at the time the show started. On the way down an interstate to the show we were blaring One Direction's "What Makes you Beautiful" when we looked at each other and began laughing because neither of us were One Direction fans at all. We stopped for lunch on the way and eventually made it to the road the venue was on. A soon as we turned we noticed a massive mall neither of us had explored before. We ended up spending three hours at the mall shopping before finally getting to the Project Cinco Party. We saw Chevelle preform and Five Finger Death Punch, but we decided to leave the outdoor ampatheather before it downpoured. Whenever we bring up that night we recall all the absolute rediculous things we did during the trip. It's one of my most fond memories.
Sonny and Cher -- and there was a riot and I got pulled on stage to save me from being crushed. Cher asked if I was okay.
John Cougar Mellancamp (he was still "Cougar" then), and in hitching a ride from way back in the parking lot to the doors, we got a ticket for "clinging to a moving vehicle" (I can't make this up). Needless to say, when "I fight authority" was played, we tore that sucker up.
I've only been to Jr. High and High School concerts. But the first I went to was my sister Emily's choir concert.
My first concert was at the Iowa State Fair and I saw New Kids on the Block. Tiffany opened for them. I'm a little embarrassed by this, but totally into signed books!
Rare Earth, Savannah, GA riverfront park, on the other end of the wharf from The Waving Girl statue, 1979.
My first concert was Queen during their "Jazz" tour. To me Freddie Mercury was the most amazing performer and I was thrilled to hear him sing live.

My first concert was Superchic[k] in 7th grade - I didn't get to see them up close though - unfortunately, we got put into overflow seating in another building and ended up watching it on the screen. What a let down! The first live concert was Pulse Fest in South Bend with TobyMac, Barlow Girl, and Michael W. Smith.
Besides school concerts, I've never been to one. :(
SOMEDAY I hope to see Adele or Sick Puppies or Maroon 5...
These sound awesome! My first concert was Boyz II Men. That was a long time ago.
Since I hadn't been to a concert yet, if I had any choice if most of them weren't dead I'd say the Beatles, or the Who
My first concert was in the summer of 1998, just after my 12th bday... and like most girls my age... I was a huge Backstreet Boys fan. It was one of their first major tours with Aaron Carter opening... he was like 10 at the time. We had alright seats but really, any seat for a show you love is a great seat.
Whoops ny name is Ben Padilla and my email is bj.padilla@mail.com* my comment was anonymous about adele
Hooray!
The first, and only, concert I've ever been to was Hilary Duff when I was in elementary school. I would love to see another of really anyone, since the atmosphere is awesome, but, ya know.
My first concert was Guns N Roses back in 1993. I was a junior in high school. Shocked my parents let me know. In fact, my first two concerts were Guns N Roses because I saw them the next week in another city not too far from where I lived.
I have not been to a concert yet. I would absolutely love to see Mumford and Sons and/or Coldplay. I think they would be some pretty fantastic groups to see for my first concert.
I have two answers also. My first concert was supposed to be Jimmy Buffett. Sadly, my sister broke her ankle at the concert before the show even started, so we spent the evening in the ER. So, by default, my first real concert was OK GO about six months later, which was an awesome show!
My first concert was way back in the 1970s—Janis Ian, and she was amazing!

I feel so alone...haven't really gone to any concerts! But someday I'll go to a Coldplay concert!! And a Panic! At the Disco one.
My first concert was when I was 16. My parents made me wait till then, even though I begged to go with my older brothers to other concerts in the previous years. It was at Randall's Island in NY, and I got see Pearl Jam perform on their NO CODE tour. I remember thinking I was one of the cool kids being able to see that band as my first concert.
My first concert was Sunday night of ACL. I saw Regina Spektor, the Decemberists, and a bit of Bob Dylan.
My first concert ever was Relient K when I was about 15 years old. For years, they had been my favorite band and it was so awesome to see them live! They sang all my favorite songs and I sang along with them. I got to meet the band after which was even more surreal for me. Overall, it was just an awesome experience. Especially for my first concert
At 15 years old, I attended Alice Cooper's "Welcome to My Nightmare" Tour at Madison Square Garden. My date and I took the bus into The City and made our way to the Garden where we sat in the "nose-bleed" section, next to some serious pot smokers. Needless to say, I came home reeking of smoke and had to explain to my parents (who thought Alice Cooper was a female folk singer) that we were not smoking. What a wild introduction to concerts!
My first concert was actually Hilary Duff! When I was in the sixth grade I loved her and she came to my city. I really wanted to go. I didn't tell my parents about the concert though, because I didn't think they'd take me. Dad still found out about it and surprised me with tickets that night - we sat in the player's box (10th row) and I could see where Wayne Gretzky scratched his name into the bench. It was the coolest!
My first concert was Backstreet Boys when I was 8. My cousin and I loved them, so my aunt and mom bought us second row tickets and took us to the concert. It got me hooked on going to concerts!
My first concert was 80's/90's Canadian pop legend, Bryan Adams in Cleveland. I was barely 13, and was being allowed to attend the concert with my older sister and her friend, both 15. We felt so important! It was the first major crowd event we had been allowed to attend by ourselves. Our step-mom had purchased the tickets for us to have something exciting to look forward to during our long summer spent with our Dad. I remember how we could barely see the stage, we were so far away, but we still didn't sit down the whole three hours. I was scared we were going to get lost or kidnapped and end up in a ditch, but my sister showed me for the first time what it looked like to find your way around with confidence (even if it wasn't really how she felt!), and to look like you know what you're doing, even when you don't.
I went to see my first concert sometime in middle school. I don't remember a whole lot about it other than the fact that it was a free community type thing and I went on a whim with my best friend. I also remember hating it.
My first concert was in 1977 or 78, not sure. It was a spur of the moment thing. I went with one of my best friends to see Linda Rondstadt in concert in Huntington, WV, about three hours away. She called to ask if I wanted to ride along with her and her older brother and his friends. I jumped at the chance. You see, I had a secret crush on her brother. Turns out, he just wanted his sister to come along so she could drive while he and his friends partied. We had terrible seats, the sound was cruddy and all in all, it was not a stellar first concert.
My first concert was Lynyrd Skynyrd's 30 year. It was a present from my parents for my 9th birthday. I had always love Lynyrd Skynyrd from a young age so as soon as my parents found out that they were going to be a county down from where we live. They got the tickets. It was the best concert I had ever been to and I got a shirt and a book about them from there. I had a blast!
I've never been to a "real" concert, but I'd love to see Train :)
My first concert was a Taylor Swift concert. It was near my birthday and my mom got 4 tickets. One for me, my sister, my cousin, and of course my mom. It was so much fun and I had an amazing time there. The concert was theatrical, sparkly, and mostly loud! But i guess the loudness just adds more fun to the show. It was one of the best nights on my life.
Corey Hart was my first concert. I think I was in jr. high then. Not very wild, and it was held in a venue that hosts stage shows rather than concerts.
When I was about 8 my parents took me to see Juice Newton. Playing with the Queen of Hearts was the highlight of the show.
My first concert was a New Kids On The Block concert. I was 11 and in love. It...was...AWESOME!
The first concert I saw was when I was about ten and it was Hilary Duff. I was so excited to be admist the sea of screaming fans at the Trump Marina in Atlantic City. It was incredible to see how many other people enjoy something as much as you do. I still have the image burned in my head of the thousands of people in one huge room all singing along with Hilary. Unforgetable moment!! (=
Totally ashamed to say this but I have never been to a concert!! I ma from India and the concerts are usually only in major cities like Mumbai or Delhi both of which are thousands of miles away from my place! But now that I am in the US, looking forward to attending more!!
I am a latino music freak, so it would most probably be something by Shakira, J Lo, Enrique etc!
Thanks for the amazing giveaway! I am absolute sucker for autographed books!!
My first concert was Coldplay - it was amazing :D I still want to see OneRepublic though! Thanks for the giveaway(:
Oh, my first concert was the Wallflowers. They just happened to (for some random reason I still don't understand) come play at the local university when I was about 14 and I got to go.
Dave Matthews Band. Needed a 3rd ticket, friend sold one of our good seats plus cash to a scalper who in return gave us 2 bogus tickets. Security heard our sad story and let us in the concert half way through.
My first concert was Chicago (the band, not the city). It was a date with the guy whom I would eventually marry. It was at an arena in a neighboring college town and I remember the hour ride to the concert and then sitting in the nose-bleed section and recognizing half of our section from the two high schools we attended. It was an awesome experience and every time a Chicago song comes on the radio or ipod, we remember that wild adventure.
My first concert was when I was in high school. My friends and I went to see Switchfoot. It wasn't bad, but I've been to better concerts since. Although the concert hall we used to go to (in Vermont) is pretty small, so we were always right up close to the stage. Can't complain about that!
I saw my first concert when I was 16 and working at Dorney Park. The Bengles played a concert in the park and I was finally allowed to go see an actual concert. I teased my hair up high and wore all of my '80s gear! (FYI admitting this is very embarrassing)
Later in high school I got to see Ozzy Osbourne play live. Now that was a concert! No bats or any other animals were injured during the concert, although Ozzy did bite a rubber bat in fun. It was a great time!
Thanks for the amazing giveaway! I, unfortunately, have yet to attend a concert, but I would love to see Il Volo, the young Italian group, in concert. Those voices... I need to see them in person! :D
I saw the Dixie Chicks when I was little. Only concert i've ever been to, but it was a good one!
Amazing give away! My first concert was Def Leppard with my dad. Yep my dad rocks. And I'm dying to see The Lumineers and I'd love to see The Pixies again. So many bands so little time...
Love this giveaway!
My first concert was Tim McGraw and Faith Hill (pre-marriage or dating). I am glad I only had to post about my first concert and not first musical purchase...yikes!
My first concert was Iron Maiden when I was in 8th grade more than 25 years ago...:( I don't think my mom realized what she agreed to take me and my friends to:)
My first concert was Hilary Duff! for my 13th birthday from my aunt! It was so exciting! When she first came on stage, she popped out of a hole and I cried! & I am not afraid to admit it! Since then I have also seen Secondhand Serenade, Backstreet Boys, Colbie Callait, Taio Cruz, and Jesse McCartney.
Wow this is such an awesome giveaway; thank you SO MUCH! It would be beyond amazing to win all those books, and autographed? I'm literally dreaming! :)
The first concert I ever went to was Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers when I was three years old. :) My mom dressed me in little jeans, boots, a mini leather jacket, and a backwards baseball cap and took me. She stuffed cotton in my ears and gave me hundreds of lollipops so I wouldn't start crying. Looking at the photos it was so fun! I was even jamming out at that age. :)
Thanks again for the contest, and best of luck to all who enter! I can't wait to see who wins. :)
my first concert was Nick Jonas and the Administration in January 2010. I was almost 15 and I was so excited because I had just became a fan of him and his brothers a few months earlier. Once I realized how amazing concerts were, I went to 5 more that year and each and every one of them were amazing haha :)
My mom took me to see the Bangles when I was in 4th grade. I still remember the outfit that I wore and doing the “Walk like an Egyptian” dance. We lived in the country, a couple of hours from the concert venue, and money was tight in my family. For my mom to spring for the tickets, the awesome outfit (that involved a skirt with biker shorts attached underneath - those of you whose formative years were in the late 80s and early 90s know the look of which I speak), it was a big deal. It's a night I will never forget.
I've never been to a concert yet, but i really would like to see either Lauren Alaina, One Direction, Taylor Swift, or Carrie Underwood.Books and music are the two things that let me escape from the real world and live somewhere else.
My first concert happened when I was about six and it was for Britney Spears. My first concert that I *really* wanted to go to and went with friends instead of family was for the Vinyl Cafe Christmas show. Absolutely wonderful.
I've never been to a concert yet,but i really would like to see either Lauren Alaina, Taylor Swift, or Carrie Underwood. Books and music are the two thing that let me escape from the real world and live somewhere else in a fantasy. I love those authors and would especially love to have their books.
I haven't been to a concert yet. But the one i would sell my soul to go to is to Mana! Latin Rock group. I absolutely adore them!
Awesome giveaway!
Although I've never been to a concert yet, I would love to see Adele or Gavin DeGraw. I have asked to see a concert before, but it never happened.
