At any Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators National Conference in L.A., Day 2 is most remembered for one thing. The party! This year, the theme was The Blue Moon Ball.
I went as Austin Powers, and here are some of the other true blue attendees (and no, I have no idea why I thought "serious face" was the way to go)...

Thalia Chaltas:

Tomorrow, it's back to attending writing workshops...and dressing in comfortable shoes!
Hahaha love the costume!
ReplyDeleteYou are rocking the blue velvet suit!!
ReplyDeleteI SO wanted to be there, but I'm in Australia seeing my newest niece, and my sister. I guess it is a pretty alright alternative :)
ReplyDeleteYou looked great as Austin and that party looked like loads of fun!
Great hanging out with you this weekend, Jay. I'll be in touch later in the week. p
ReplyDeleteYour costume was awesome. I didn't even know it was you until someone clued me in later in the night.
ReplyDeleteI put a taco in my purse at the Blue Moon Ball. They were yummylicious and anyway, who's got 9 bucks for stale minibar Pringles? Thanks for the pix. Dig the suit.
ReplyDeleteYOU are a nut.
ReplyDeleteMy fave Richard Peck quote from a talk he gave in Portland, "I wanted to have ADHD, but my mother wouldn't let me."
